Every year I have parents ask me, "what can we do at home to support our student?" We know that kids learn through play. The problem is, I can't send home our classroom games because we simply don't have enough.
My students are bright, curious, fun-loving kids who have parents that want to support them, but just aren't sure how.
Many times, they don't even have books to read at home. When I ask them to go home and read, it might just be impossible for them. One year ago, a tornado tore through our district, destroying many of my students' homes. Their parents are doing the best they can, but when you lose everything, replacing books and learning games just isn't a priority.
My Project
The products I am requesting will provide a series of backpacks that my students will take home to support what they are learning at school. The resources are at various levels, so each student can take the backpack that is right for them. In each backpack, there will be books, games, a response log, and suggestions for how parents can help their student reach their specific goal.
This project will not only buy resources, but will increase motivation and engagement during homework time.
I don't want to send home a worksheet for homework when I can send home these incredible games and books that will help my students learn and retain the information more efficiently. Thank you for helping my students reach their goals!
