My Students

My students (& soccer players) from Nashville, TN are part of a school that teaches kids how to connect their heads with their hearts. We exist to empower our diverse community to live inspired, purposeful lives. At Valor, our kids are pushed to perform with excellence in terms of academics, but also believe that needs to be balanced with a big heart - learning kindness, empathy, and how to be a part of a community. As a coach, I see the soccer field as a training ground for life - making sure each player leaves the program as a leader in their community with the tools needed to build relationships and influence those in their circles. My players genuinely LOVE one another, especially in their differences, and understand what it means to put the TEAM FIRST.

My Project

These backpacks will help my students/soccer players to have a place to store their important items and gear that is needed for school and practice! We will look like one unified team with these backpacks to be able to represent our school well. As a high school soccer coach, I have seen how our girls feel more valued when we invest in them with quality materials and equipment. I'm hopeful these bags will increase their excitement surrounding school and soccer during these chaotic COVID-19 months, and give them an opportunity to grow in responsibility.
