Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are first graders in a bilingual Spanish-English K-8 public school. In our class, we work hard to become better readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and citizens while strengthening our different languages and learning about our heritage.

My students are inquisitive, bright, funny and wiggly.

They love listening to stories, creating new art projects and solving interesting math puzzles. Each one of them brings a unique blend of backgrounds, learning styles, and strengths that make our class stronger and better for everyone.

My Project

After a year (and a half-ish) of distance learning, hybrid, remote, in-person, and all the combinations imaginable, our first graders are ready to tell lots of stories. Working on writing will be one of our big areas of focus this school year, and these materials will be a great help.

Our rising first graders are ready to rock this school year and I want to help them be ready with the right kind of tools.

The notebooks and pencils are developmentally appropriate for where our students are, and having the whiteboards and markers will help us engage in many interactive activities as students work through their academics.
