My 7th-grade Civics students are brilliant, compassionate, diverse, and eager to learn. Civics is known to be one of the hardest social studies courses for students to master, especially for middle schoolers. Learning about the entire American Government is difficult, discussing politics at the age of 12 is challenging, and learning about what is going on in the world around them can feel nearly impossible at times. However, my kids love every minute of it. They love talking about current events. They love learning about what the president does and how laws are passed. They love discussing their rights as citizens and how they can influence the world around them. They love knowing that they can make a difference. Supporting my classroom will allow me to provide my students with the best possible Civics education that I can in order to transform these brilliant kiddos into active and caring citizens in society. My Project
While paper and pencils may not be the most exciting school supplies, they are some of the most basic necessities students need in order to learn. Each day, I get requests for paper and pencils from at least 25 students who do not have them. While I always find one to give them, replenishing these supplies has become difficult for me. Please consider helping us out with the basics.
Also, one of my requested items is a floor lamp.
I try my best to create an environment that my students thrive in. Because this is where my students spend such a large part of their day, I try to make our classroom feel like home. This lamp will allow me to keep the overhead lights off, which my students love!
