My Students

Can you imagine being 4 or 5 years old and doing school on a Zoom screen? I can't either, but it's what my dear students have been doing since the end of August!

Our sweet students come from diverse backgrounds and bring a large array of experiences to our classrooms and school.

Our school is a Title I urban school with the most diverse population in our district. Over 66% of our students qualify to receive free or reduced-price lunch. School becomes a safe haven for these scholars - where expectations are the same every day and their basic needs are met. While they come to school to learn, they thrive when they are given the opportunity to utilize a variety of resources to make learning real and fun. We hope that we can provide these resources for them to access at home as well.

My Project

My students continue to learn at home and have amazed me with their dedication and hard work. One way that I've found that I can help them organize themselves, is by copying work on different colored paper. This way, we can all pull out the bright blue packet and work on that for the day. It has helped with organization, but also make learning at home more fun and inviting as well!

While brightly colored work makes learning fun, so do new stories!

The non-fiction books requested in this project will help me be able to utilize curriculum that I have purchased that is of high interest to my kinder students. These stories will help them learn features of non-fiction books in a way that is engaging and fun!
