Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students/kiddos are diagnosed with Autism and other developmental disabilities. They range from Kindergarten to 2nd grade in a 12:1:1 self-contained Special education classroom. They have multiple learning styles but they learn best through hands-on and sensory experiences. I have had the privilege of working with them this past year remotely and in person.

My Project

Special education students deserve an equitable and equal education. In order for this to be possible we need basic supplies such as laminating materials to provide a hands-on sensory based learning experience. Students with disabilities need instruction that is sensory-based, adapted, and differentiated. Laminating activities, the use of velcro strips and dots provide such experience.

I want to provide my students and collaborating teaching teams with the supplies we need to educate our students according to their preferred learning style.

I look forward to using these supplies to create long lasting and engaging learning activities for my students.
