My Students
I see many different types of students in my Young 5's-2nd grade Special Education classroom at T. Charter Academy. Each student is very unique and has his or her own learning style. Each child brings different creative traits to the classroom. My kids come from very low socio-economic backgrounds, but thrive when their basic needs are met and when they know someone truly cares. These students come to school eager to learn, and want to be successful in and outside of the school enviornment!
My Project
Having access to basic materials such as pencils, paper, and erasers are vital for learning at all ages. My students often misplace their materials and learning time can be lost trying to hunt down the essential tools for learning. My students will benefit from using headphones and laminating pouches daily to support auditory and visual needs in the classroom. Learning can also become a little dull at times, so my students would find great joy in learning basic reading skills using a variety of instant learning centers. It's time to get back to the basics and help these kiddos make their communities proud!
