This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very creative, thoughtful, and inquisitive. They enjoy active, hands-on, and engaging project opportunities. My students use opportunities that allow them to think outside the box. They come to school with a positive attitude and ready to learn new things. Each day they make it their goal to be positive, respectful, and be active learners. They take on the daily challenges with a growth mindset!

In my classroom, we have created a positive learning environment where we encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and project-based learning.

All the while, each students is working towards their own individual learning goals. This year we are incorporating a variety of learning strategies such as group work, partner work, collaboration, project-based learning, technology presentations, and performance assessments. So far my students are very artistic and enjoy creating projects using technology.

My Project

The Ticonderoga pencils will be used to take notes, to sketch out engineering projects, to sketch geographical maps. Students will use the expo markers to work on place value understanding. The students will be given a sheet protector and place value chart. Each day we will use the chart to help students understand how a number's value comes from the place they are. We are using Eureka math and these tools will help students access the Common Core Concepts and procedures standards.

Color Pencils and Expo markers will help students work on projects and make lessons more interesting and engaging.

My students are mostly low income and would benefit from these materials. We would make sure to use the color pencils to color in our geographical maps. Our NGSS projects will be labeled and color-coded. While glue sticks will be used for our variety of Social Studies projects. Highlighters are needed to break down texts and find key evidence in text passages.

While the expo markers will make it easier for students to work on one math problem, erase, and move on to another.
