My 7th grade Geography students from Montana are energetic learners and full of questions. Together in class we travel the whole world to better understand the unique people groups, cultures, places, and terrain that make up our amazing world!
My students love new ways to explore and learn about their world.
Activities that are engaging and hands-on make mastering the content standards more fun. We use a variety of learning styles to try and reach all learners in the classroom.
My Project
The kits that are funded for this project will provide students a hands-on way to learn the content by going beyond textbooks and worksheets.
Breakout EDU makes learning fun and incorporates 4 necessary skills of 21st century learners--critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication!
The kits include re-settable locks, boxes, and items where students work together to solve various puzzles, similar to an escape room. The Breakout EDU platform gives access to games on more than 900 academic topics. Plus teachers can build their own content-aligned games for classroom sharing. My students will be learning the same grade level standards but in a more engaging and interactive manner while using life skills they might not normally use in a Geography class.
