Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I believe there is no place like a safe, welcoming, and inviting classroom environment. A classroom environment that meets the individual needs of all learners. Please help me give my students a peace corner where they can always go to relax and self-regulate their emotions. Establishing a peace corner with an ABC rug, scoop rockers, and special puck lighting will mean everything to my students who have sensory processing deficits. The peace corner will be clean and inviting. I will use the Febreze and Lysol products to keep it clean and ready for students to use as needed.
The materials in our peace corner will allow them to manipulate the sensory materials, which will help calm their mind and body movement.
This will be extremely beneficial to their social emotional skills and it will help them succeed in school. When needed, students can use the journals and pens I am asking for to express themselves and their emotions.
A peace corner requires materials that will help my students to self-regulate their emotions. One of the materials I am asking for is a liquid floor activity play center. This will allow my students to step on, touch, feel, and dance on liquid tiles. This is an awesome sensory floor for students to engage in independently or with peers.
In essence, my students have a way of showing their emotions when they are feeling elated, frustrated, and melancholy. Having a portable indoor trampoline in the classroom will help accommodate my students' sensory needs. It will allow them to jump on the trampoline and let off steam while getting exercise.
My students are infatuated with the author Mo Willems book characters. Help me give my students stuffed animals that they can become reading buddies with. They would also cuddle with them to help them feel better while in the peace corner. There would be a variety of stuffed animals such as the Llama Llama Red Pajama Beanbag Stuffed Animal and the Elephant & Piggie Soft Stuffed Animals I am asking for. These would be stored in the small cubby bins. Students would be able to access them as needed. Reading with these stuffed animals will help develop their fluency and comprehension skills.
Lastly, having Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards will help me in printing out social emotional materials that my students will need throughout the school year. These activities will help them in making connections with peers, validating their feelings, and learning effective ways to feel calm when needed. I would be able to access journal prompts about feelings and games that would help them develop listening and speaking skills.
