This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Window sills, desks, cubbies, and a floor; not much space to put our things! It seems as though our space is getting smaller, but we're doing so many more activities! We want to continue to do all of the fun-loving projects our Kindergarten class can think of!

We are a vivacious classroom of high energy and creative Kindergarteners.

This year, classes are maxing out at 25 Kindergarteners each. Now that Kindergarten is mandatory, we now have 6 classes, and maybe more on the way. Our school is HUGE but our mini-building where all of the Kindergarten classes are located, is pretty cramped. We have limited storage space and definitely no table space.

My Project

We are requesting an activity table for three things. In our classroom, we've been doing many, many centers. They are a class favorite! We do word and picture sorts, writing letters to our friends and family, and partner read! This would be much more successful if there was another table in the room to spread out and utilize. Second, we plan on using this table for art projects. With only window sills to lay out our crafts, it is nearly impossible to dry projects and put materials out for painting. Last, we hope to use a new table for science. We have a FANTASTIC science teacher who motivates us through tons of activities and experiments, and with a new table, we'll have new space to perform them and engage the children.

Although it's just a table, it's actually a classroom life-saver.

One table creates a new space in the room for differentiated work, a center, all in all, a new place for learning. It serves more than just a tabletop, but a Science Laboratory. A table doesn't just have four legs, it has an infinite number of art work. Our new classroom table will be a place of solace and future endeavors for many years to come!
