Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a 3rd-grade teacher in a high needs, low income, Title I school. Our students are primarily English Language Learners. Our school is 70% ELL and 100% free lunch/breakfast for all students.

I will have an incredible group of 28 students in the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.

Every day these students will walk into the classroom eager to learn and ready to face any challenge that's put in front of them. Students spend long hours at school every day and, yet, every single day they're excited to be here and ready to take on whatever is put in front of them. It truly amazes me how determined and dedicated these young minds of theirs are.

There is no better feeling as a teacher than when you do not have worry about providing your student with certain supplies. Being that my students come from low income households many of them are not able to provide themselves with supplies needed to help them stay successful in school. The communication folders will be used as homework folders that will help my students keep their daily work organized and ensuring any important paperwork I sent home stays nicely organized. I have added headphones, whiteboard markers, erasers that will be used on a daily basis. The stools and tables will be used as flexible seating. Our school is very big on collaboration and team building. The rest of the supplies will be used throughout the classroom to help ensure that we have a successful school year.
