Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Do you remember your first day of kindergarten? My new students will be excited, but with budget cuts, I might not have enough of even the most basic supplies for them.
I will be teaching kindergarten this year in a public school in a high-poverty area.
My students will be eager and curious, but will most likely lack many of the supplies they need in order to thrive. And with budget cuts, there is no money for the schools to provide these resources to our children.
My Project
Some of the resources I'm asking for are very basic--construction paper and glue sticks for art and literacy projects. My students will also benefit from some more auditory, tactile and kinesthetic activities, such as new listening centers and math centers. Puppets for dramatic play will allow my students to develop their social skills while learning about their community.
With your support, my students will be able to use these resources, both basic and engaging, to grow academically and socially.
At this young age, they need lots of hands-on activities in order to understand new concepts. Your help will make all the difference.
