This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a 2nd-grade teacher in a high needs, low income, Title I school. Our students are primarily English Language Learners. Our school is made up of 70% ELL and 100% of them receive a free lunch and breakfast.

I have an incredible group of 26 students this school year.

This year has been an interesting one due to the changes during this pandemic. We don't know what to quite expect but as I have learned we teachers are very adaptable. Every day these students will walk into the classroom eager to learn and ready to face any challenge that's put in front of them. Students spend long hours at school every day and, yet, every single day they're excited to be here and ready to take on whatever is put in front of them. It truly amazes me how determined and dedicated these young minds of theirs are.

My Project

We are two weeks from our official start day of this school year. I have added a few different items that will help make this school year amazing. First, I have added a few different items that will help celebrate birthdays this school year. For the past years I usually make my own little goodies to give away but this year I would love to be able to provide my students with nice birthday items to make them feel extra special. The other items I have added will be used for small centers and daily activities in our classroom.
