This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a 2nd-grade teacher in a high needs, low income, Title I school. Our students are primarily English Language Learners. Our school is 70% ELL and 100% free lunch/breakfast for all students.
I will have an incredible group of 26 students in the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.
Every day these students will walk into the classroom eager to learn and ready to face any challenge that's put in front of them. Students spend long hours at school every day and, yet, every single day they're excited to be here and ready to take on whatever is put in front of them. It truly amazes me how determined and dedicated these young minds of theirs are.
My Project
We will be beginning the new school year on August 24th. Due to this pandemic we are all experiencing. This back to school is going to be a journey for all of us. Students are going to be experiencing a school culture shock with all the new safety rules and the new school schedule we will have to adapt to. I want to provide my student with a plastic pencil case they will be able to keep their personal items in that pencil box.
These cases are amazing because they will be able to transport that case to and from home.
The rest of the supplies will also be used to help support students in having all the materials needed to help keep them motivated and focused in this new education journey we will all be beginning.
