My Students
My students are unique in their own way. Each of them bring their own talent and strength to the classroom environment. Our school is predominantly African Americans students with a few Hispanic and Asian populations and 1% white. Most of these students are low leveled students.
Their ability to read and write are extremely poor and weak.
Regardless of their insufficiency they have a spirit to learn which makes my job easier. With my guidance and high expectation, I know they can learn.
My Project
My students are eager and motivated to learn science. Our science classes is one where students are actively engaged in asking and creating questions, constructing explanations, designing and planning experiments, engaging in arguments and using models. With these materials such as the notebooks, pens and pencils, students will capture their thinking, create plans and analyze data.
In sharing their ideas with peers, they will be able to use post its to collaborate and swap ideas with each other.
This will lead to a classroom climate where students are pushing each other to explain their thinking and communicating like a scientist while actively participating and learning through the process of science.
