This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom is in need of essential occupational therapy tools to support our students' diverse learning needs. We are requesting items such as dysgraphia writing paper, skin tone crayons, sensory stepping stones, and motor-based games. Dysgraphia writing paper will provide crucial support for students struggling with handwriting, offering them a structured way to practice and improve their writing skills. Skin tone crayons will help students express themselves creatively, allowing them to create artwork that reflects their own identities and fosters a sense of belonging. Sensory stepping stones will be used to develop balance, coordination, and sensory integration, helping students who benefit from movement-based learning. Motor-based games will further enhance fine and gross motor skills, which are essential for everyday tasks and academic success. Sensory toys will provide calming strategies and sensory input, helping students with autism and sensory processing challenges to stay focused and engaged. My goal for the new school year is foster a more supportive, inclusive environment.
