My Students

I teach ambitious and hardworking teen parents. My students are academically dedicated and do their absolute best to remain on track for graduation while managing jobs and caring for their children.

Each student possesses the necessary grit and positive mindsets needed to be successful.

However, individual merit is not enough to sustain academic success. Institutional support is also essential to combat the barriers that interrupt students' educational opportunities. Offering nutritious snacks to students throughout the school day helps build trusting and supportive relationships between students and staff.

My Project

My students' school day begins well before 8 am. Many wake up as early as 5 am to prepare themselves, their children, and their siblings for school. Moreover, they make multiple stops to drop off their siblings and children before arriving at school themselves. Before school starts, my students have successfully completed various tasks involving others.

I am requesting snacks and water to sustain them during the instructional day!

By the time they reach campus, they've already started a full day, many without breakfast. Food in the classroom will help my students begin their instructional day with the sustenance needed to maintain their concentration during each class period.
