Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are an enthusiastic group of children who come from a variety of socioeconomic situations and special needs. Students often bring issues from home into school which affects their learning. My classroom is a safe environment where students can work with each other to fulfill their potential.

What makes my students unique, is their individual backgrounds and experiences that they bring to the classroom.

They require intense small group and independent instruction to heighten their learning experience. I intend to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all students to not only increase their understanding and retention of academic content, but to also increase their engagement in school.

My Project

Back to school is always fun and intimidating for both students and teachers. However, a few materials can launch the school year off with smiles and learning. The materials I am requesting will bring that and more to my classroom!

My students will use the addition and subtraction flashcards to promote independence and build fluency.

The students are going to love using the pen to self-assess. The literacy centers will strengthen their reading and writing skills. I am a big advocate for flexible seating and I cannot wait to add this balance seat to my classroom. Lastly, the privacy partitions will be used during testing and small groups to increase focus and attention to task.
