Back to School - COVID Edition

Help me give my students a colorful yet organized classroom. Now with all COVID procedures and us going back in person in March, every student needs the opportunity to have their own personal materials rather than shared materials.

My Students

I am fortunate to be moving up and teaching first grade for the first time in a neighborhood with children from every corner of the globe, and every socio-economic group. My students' early experiences with classmates from such varied backgrounds make them naturally open to cultures, religions, languages, foods, and traditions that may be very different from their own. It is an inspiring, enriching environment for teaching and learning, and with your help, we can make this an even better year for them! My American students benefit from this international immersion as well, learning tolerance, cooperation, acceptance. In their diverse group of classmates, they find joy in making friends that speak a language different from theirs, have different foods in their lunch box, or celebrate holidays different from their own. I hope to preserve this natural acceptance of others and help it to fortify them for the challenges they face as they grow into adults and leaders.

My Project

Now that COVID protocols have been enforced, going back to school will be different than any child has experienced before. With it being my first year in first grade, I have to re-invent the wheel of materials used in the classroom.

Teachers Pay Teacher's will help me make this new way of going to school work!

It will help guarantee that the kids stay safe!

Each child needs their own set of supplies rather than shared materials. These gift cards will help me assure health and safety in the classroom!
