Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Here at school, we've seen a huge boost in monolingual students attending. They're working hard to catch up on their English skills, but when they want to relax and read something at their level, our Spanish section is severely lacking. In our library, we believe everyone has the right to read what they like, so our students who are more comfortable reading in their native language have very few options.

We want to grow our Spanish language section for all reading levels.

In addition, we have had requests for language learning books and have included some of these, as well as a few pieces of new decor for our library. We're so proud of our students who are trying to bridge communication gaps with their peers by studying new languages! These language books as well as the books in Spanish go a long way to building bridges in our student population!
