This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a Title I school where my district, school, and my students are unable to purchase many of the supplies needed for sixth grade. Many of my students are children who speak English as a second language. These students have many struggles to overcome and not having the necessary supplies should not hold them back from being successful.

These students are super hard workers, and want to excel.

There are over 90 students in the sixth grade and not enough materials to go around for my math class. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.

My Project

My students have a hard time purchasing all the materials they need to be successful in my math classroom. With your generous donations my students can start the year off with all the materials they need.

I am asking for paper, pencils, markers, notebooks, and glue for my students to use every day to help them achieve academically.

The paper is used for fact fluency completion, the colored pencils and markers are used to complete notebook journaling and activities at math centers. The storage boxes will be used to help students organize their centers by activity. The stapler will be used to staple all their work together in each unit as as a study guide.

I am also asking for Lysol wipes, sanitizer, and tissues that will keep my kids, desks, and materials clean and ready to use each day. Many of these materials will be used for math warm-ups, word problem annotations, or at center time. These items will let my students start the year with all the materials they need to be strong mathematicians and continue to thrive and persevere through their daily challenges.
