Back to school means preparing my amazing students for the classes they will be taking, and the support they will need.
This project is full of fidgets that needed replacing, slime mixes for our celebration parties (which were a huge hit last year!), notebooks and guided journals for our SEL unit and as an additional resource for my students with behavior needs, pastels for our self-portrait unit, and much more.
I am truly so grateful for DonorsChoose and people like you, who make sure that my students are set up for success. It's the little things that I'm excited to know about after my first year at this school to meet my student's needs more fully; like knowing that kids asked for more journals to free write in (and stickers for journaling or decorating), and that other kids wanted prompts to be able to share what was really going on in their heads. Knowing which fidgets helped students, and making sure that we have them in my co-taught classroom too so that using fidgets (or focus tools) is normalized. As well as knowing that my students use Study Skills for math homework and my classroom needs calculators.
I am excited about the clear sleeve pouches to help my students stay organized. Part of my job as a special education teacher is helping create systems to stay organized and on top of homework, as well as teaching different strategies. Having special pens, notebooks, clear sleeves, and other office supplies helps make the task of staying on top of your homework fun, and accessible.
