Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students, English language learners, are a bright group of diverse learners. Despite coming from homes where their parents work multiple jobs and living in a high poverty low-income area, my students come to school every day eager to learn and be successful. My students are smart, kind, and helpful individuals that always go the extra mile to help the people around them. The students in our classroom take great pride in not only their work, but their classroom environment.

My Project

Do you remember going shopping for school supplies? While it might have been fun for some, others might have struggled. This project is to help cut out the struggle. I teach in a Title 1 school in a low-income area. The pandemic has ravaged families and their incomes.

By providing my students with some basic supplies (pencils, pens, notebooks, crayons, binders, markers, pencil cases, and paper) all of my students will be able to start out this year on an even playing field.

This will allow my class to get to hard work of re-acclimatizing to school and creating a school family.
