This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My sixth grades students are a bundle of energy as they are learning to navigate the transition from elementary to middle school. Sometimes this transition is overwhelming, and they find themselves lacking fundamental school supplies, even down to a pencil and an eraser. Additionally, many of my students' families are experiencing financial challenges which impact their ability to provide basic supplies.

The goal of this project is to ensure that EVERY student in my classes has an opportunity to learn by providing the most basic school supply, a pencil.

That way they can participate in classroom activities without any stigma for not having what is needed to learn.
