This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

General education curriculum and workbooks are not what my students in my special day class need. Instead, I create almost all of the materials my students need to meet their individual learning goals. From matching the alphabet, to pictures and numbers, our students use printed materials everyday.

Velcro dots and magnetic tape are essentials that I use daily to create meaningful lessons for my TK-1st grade students.

My students use enlarged printed materials during whole-group lessons as well as individualized lessons since the majority or my students cannot yet hold a pencil. These materials provide them with the tailored subject matter that is interesting to them.

Laminators are my favorite tool and keep printed lesson materials safe, longer. I often spend hours each week printing and laminating every lesson item so my students can access the lesson material in their own way. While some students are focused on matching, others are learning to just grab with their full hand. Your assistance helps me make lesson materials for every unit, for each student, throughout the year.
