Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the privilege of teaching six amazing students in grades 5-7. They are sweet, energetic and full of wonder. All of my students have communicative disorders and deficits in social as well as cognitive domains. As part of their learning experiences, I strive to create an environment that is safe, fun and engaging.

It is inspiring to see these students reach milestones that one might take for granted.

With the right support, the sky is the limit for my students!

My Project

Most of my students are diagnosed with Autism and they have deficits in processing information. We utilize a color coding system in the class in order to help with this issue. Any way I can keep the class remain organized and on task is a beneficial and keeps my students focused and gather new information. The colored paper as well as storage containers and book rings will impact my students tremendously in regards to processing and being on task. In addition, the colorful borders will help cheer up our classroom and create an inviting envronment.
