My Students

Our kindergarten is located in a unique and diverse urban setting in northern New Jersey. This community strives to help all learners meet their potential regardless of their backgrounds. We aim to provide a safe place for students to grow through a variety of methods. Our school is brand new this year and houses the kindergarten students from the district. The school is named after civil right activist and former district teacher, Theodora Smiley Lacey.

The district motto, "That each may learn," reflects this goal and is the hallmark of every classroom and building within the district.

Differentiated instruction and individualized instruction are the keys to achieving in our classrooms!

My Project

With the help of this project, each student will receive a plastic pencil box and storage bin to keep their materials organized and separated from other students. The plastic pencil box and storage bin will also assist in keeping my students from losing their materials.

Most school years, I have my students share materials as it instills a senses of community.

However, due to Covid-19, this year we are not able to share any materials in order to prevent cross contamination. That is why the plastic pencil boxes and storage bins are essential. The pencil boxes and bins are both made out of plastic, so they can easily be wiped down with a disinfecting wipe. Being able to wipe down all of the pencil boxes and storage bins is important because it will help maintain my students safe from germs in the classroom.
