My Students

I am a teacher in an ICT classroom setting where our students are supporting, and learning from each other in all subject areas. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. As teachers we are unable to control what happens at home, but it is our job to maintain a safe, engaging, and positive learning experience throughout the day.

Support; that's one word I can use to describe teaching.

A teacher's job, aside from teaching, is being supportive. I make a difference by offering support, strength and comfort to children who desire these things every day. Our students love coming to school because they are eager to learn new things and work hard because we believe in them.

The students have a variety of learning styles and I try to make the learning experiences as interactive as possible. We need to make every minute count when the students are in school.

My Project

Some families simply do not have the resources to buy their children more than one of what they need, even though there are supplies that need to be replenished several times a year, as students go through pencils, crayons, glue, and erasers like water.

The importance of basic school supplies can sometimes be overlooked.

It is essential for students to have materials such as pencils, glue sticks, and dry erase markers to help them become successful learners. These supplies will ensure the children write with sharpened pencils, erase their mistakes, and engage in interactive white board practice daily with dry-erase markers.
