This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

With 100% of my class qualifying as high poverty and "at-risk," it is essential that I provide them the best educational experiences I possibly can. My scholars are fun, energetic, creative, loving children who need as much support, guidance, and love as I can give them. Providing a safe, organized, accessible environment is the first step in ensuring that my students are excited and comfortable expressing themselves, taking risks, and growing.

Our Cubs are college bound!

This year is critical in their reading development, and a literacy-filled environment will help us prepare them for college.

My Project

The tools and programs requested in this project will truly change the lives of my students. I have many students that have trouble sitting still and focusing on work for any amount of time, so the Bouncy Bands are the perfect solution to that problem. Students are able to expend energy and "wiggle" without disturbing neighbors (as I've experienced with some other alternative seating options).

Many of my students are struggling readers far below their grade level expectation, so we need a phonics program that can help us!

I have seen the Saxon Phonics program help students grow exponentially, and I hope that I can use this program with my students.
