My Students

My students are 2nd and 3rd grade students from New York City in a Special Education class. They are hard working, happy students. My students come from low-income families and need every advantage they can get. They face many challenges outside of school, but they work hard in school to succeed.

They have the smarts and the motivation to be the best; let's give them the materials.

I want to ensure my students have all the necessary tools to compete in our challenging world.

My Project

My students love math and love to work on dry erase boards. I think it is just more fun to do work with a marker and on a board. It's almost like playing school, but they are really working hard! Now we use laminated sheets of paper which work okay. Personal size white boards and fresh new markers would be wonderful.

As my students are learning to read and I now have the need for a literacy center.

We need small binder rings and a drawer organizer to hold sight word rings and other reading materials. A chair will make this center complete.
