Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher, it is my goal to elevate my students, and inspire in them the belief that anything is possible and that if they push themselves they will succeed. At just six years old, my students face poverty, emotional and physical abuse, hunger, and emotional distress/trauma. And yet despite their hardships, I see that my first graders have courage, strength, and perseverance. My students come from a diverse background, and all of them try their best every school day!

My Project

Unfortunately, my classroom is lacking a working air conditioner. Getting a new air conditioner to replace the old one is not an option that will happen anytime soon. The first week of school is going to consist of 90 degree days. My students are expected to read, write, and learn in extremely hot weather. This portable air-conditioner will allow my students to learn in a comfortable setting. Without an air conditioner my students will not be able to perform at their best, as they will be in very warm temperatures. Your donation will help my students stay cool during these hot days!
