My Project

In our classroom, we use baby doll circle time daily to teach and foster empathy and social skills. Students with Autism require extra support in those areas, so I use direct instruction and modeling to teach these necessary life skills through baby doll circle time. The baby dolls and accessories in this project will allow me to implement daily baby doll circle time lessons that will teach my students skills they'll use for the rest of their lives.

Baby doll circle time is exactly how it sounds. This is where my students and I sit together, usually in a circle on the carpet, and each student has a baby and any accessories we may need for that particular lesson. We use a combination of catchy songs, silly games, and playfulness to teach and model social-emotional learning, and calm down techniques such as breathing, social skills, and connection. This is my students' favorite part of the day, and I've already seen so much growth in this simple activity. We would be so grateful to have the materials needed to properly implement baby doll circle time in our classroom.
