My Project
Students can use baby dolls and baby doll accessories to support social and emotional skills. Life skills are important to begin to build at a young age. Children are absorbing what they see happening their house from birth. They learn if they cry a parent will react and usually get them what they need. As they grow up, children continue to develop these skills in the classroom. They talk to other children and pretend play with others.
Building life skills is the dramatic play area can have a life changing impact.
Some children are never around a baby. They do not understand what to do when a baby cries or how to change a diaper. Other children help their parents take care of a baby by feeding them and entertaining them.
By providing the opportunity for children to play and explore with baby dolls at a young age, they continue to develop social emotional skills as well as help others. Children like to take charge and tell another child that if they baby is crying, they should feed it. They role play house and pretend to be a mommy or daddy and try to solve problems like what's for dinner or who needs to go to work and why. Providing baby dolls and accessories help the children to build social, emotional, and language skills while they learn to interact with others and problem solve.
