My Students

My school is in downtown Brooklyn. Though the area is beautiful many of my students travel over two hours to get here. This past year we unveiled an absolutely beautiful media library. We were fortunate enough to receive donations from the city but our job is not done yet!

We would like to continue to build up our library! Our goal is to fill it with books of all genres to help get our students reading again!

My Project

Franklin D. Roosevelt once stated, "Happiness is not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort." There's no lack of apps and online lessons to teach personal finance in today's digital era.

My students will gain a culture of joyful reading and learning while gaining financial literacy through the experience of playing board games.

When Milton Bradley created the Game of Life over 160 years ago, he intended to educate and entertain families by replicating life's unpredictable twists and turns. Many of my students are from households where they must work after school to contribute to the home. Playing board games can support their social-emotional learning (SEL) as it requires cooperation and teamwork.

Ms. Echols Science Skills Center Grades 9-12

Celebrate Black teachers and kids! This project supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of students are Black.

Equity Focus

At this school, more than 50% of students are Black, Latino, and/or Native American, and more than 50% come from low-income households. Learn how your donation to this school supports a more equitable education.
