This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are mainly inner city boys and girls who came to America to live the American dream. Many of them had to leave their moms and dads behind and take residence with friends or distant cousins. My kids are just that, kids.

My students want to learn a skilled trade so they can not only help themselves but their younger brothers and sisters.

The Automotive field is a wide open area where many of my students find good honest work. Over the past few years more young ladies have entered my classroom wanting a chance to learn the skills needed to enter the workforce, not inly in the Automotive field but in the transportation field as a whole, with your help we can make this happen.

My Project

My students come to me with some basic knowledge which is ok, if they want a job. My goal is to prepare them for a career. Helping them and preparing them to work as an Automotive Technician in the 21st century means equipping them with the lastest technology. This technology requires hand held computers, and not just one per class. I'm hoping that with everyone's help my students will be ready to train in the classroom and then show off their skills in the real world. Today's cars are equiped with computer systems that render basic aftermarket scan tools absolute. Many manufacturers have gone to using laptop computers computers to help technicians diagnose issues and concerns. My goal is to keep my students updated with the tools needed to gain entry into the Automotive field, laptops that tie into the cars computer system is the answer.
