This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach autistic students in a self-contained 8:1:1 classroom, in a high-poverty school in the Bronx. Our classroom is in desperate need of materials for them to thrive and grow academically. Many of my students are sensitive to noise and use headphones throughout the day to help cancel out sound. The school printer is constantly breaking and takes forever to get repaired. Having a printer in my classroom would be a huge help and would allow my students to have access to all the materials that they need. My students require tons of visual support in order to learn.
