My Project

I love the unique personalities, talents, and perspectives each of my students brings to the classroom. Their creativity, enthusiasm, and resilience in overcoming challenges inspire me daily. The learning process becomes a journey full of wonder, and I deeply value helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Every day, I see how much they can achieve with the right support and encouragement.

The resources I’ve chosen will equip my students with essential tools to succeed in both the classroom and the school community.

Here’s how each will help:

The Kelty Lowdown Couch provides a quiet, comfortable space for students to rest and recharge. For many students, especially those with autism, having a designated break area is vital. This couch serves as a calming retreat, allowing students to regulate their emotions, decompress, and refocus. It promotes emotional well-being, ensuring students return to tasks feeling refreshed and ready to engage.

Fidget toys will be used as incentives and rewards for positive behavior and task completion. These toys are especially beneficial for students who need sensory input to stay calm and focused. Fidget toys promote self-regulation and improve concentration, helping students manage their energy in productive ways. Earning a fidget toy will motivate them, boosting their sense of accomplishment and reinforcing positive behaviors.

Finally, games like Jenga, Tic-Tac-Toe, and various ball games will be part of school community events aimed at promoting autism awareness. These games teach important social skills like turn-taking, sharing, and communication. They foster connection and understanding, creating a supportive, inclusive environment where families and students can learn about neurodiversity together. These activities strengthen relationships and help break down barriers within the school community.

Together, these resources will create an inclusive and supportive space for students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
