Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach third grade, but many of my students are two to three years behind. They are taught at a third-grade level, however, their small group instruction is on a kindergarten or first-grade level. I am requesting books for our author study. In class, we are talking about how there are many different styles that authors use to write and illustrate their books. I want my students to understand how authors help us to understand character traits, show us their point of view, how authors give clues to understand words we do not know, how the illustrations help us understand the story in a more meaningful way.
