This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year, I have the pleasure being the Autism Coach and support over 100 students with Autism and their teachers. I look forward to this project to help me organize each student's most vital information such as their IEPs, FBA, Home Notes, Conference Forms, Interim/Progress Reports, and Work Samples. It is my goal to help teachers organize this information with dividers to keep all records and data from grades K-5 in a Binder.

Our "au"some students with autism may have difficulty expressing their emotions.

The colorful robots will be used as reinforcers and even a tool to help the students transition in the hallway. I am confident the robots will help the students to calm themselves and focus on getting the robot to class safely.

In addition, the batteries are needed not only for robot controllers, but also for their AAC devices. AAC (Augmentative and Alternative) devices are devices that help the students communicate in class and socially. We use a variety of devices that require batteries to operate. The batteries are also needed for the timers. Timers are known to be very helpful for our students as it is a visual representation of how much time is remaining for a particular activity. This can help reduce frustration in our students. Overall, our "au"some students are in need of these items, and it would mean so much to us that this project is a success.
