Help Ms. Ofstie

Please help the most wonderful students in the world read with audiobooks! I teach high school English Language Development. My students are in 9th-12th grade, and are intermediate-level English language learners. They come from many countries such as China, Vietnam, Mexico, El Salvador, Indonesia, Burma, and Cambodia.

My students are wanting to read high school-level novels so badly, yet their independent reading skills are not quite high enough to do so by themselves.

That's where audiobooks come in. Books on CD are a wonderful way to independently read a novel and listen to the words at the same time. They will help the students get through the novels without giving up, which is so important to build their confidence as well as their reading levels. I would like four CD audiobooks for four novels that are already in our classroom library, as well as four portable CD players with which to listen to them.

Your help will ensure that my students, who are so eager to read and learn English, can do so without getting frustrated by the challenges of reading novels independently. They will be able to listen along to the CD, which will enable them to read and listen to English simultaneously. Please help us! Thank you.
