This year in fourth grade we are doing something new! I have a wonderful classroom of 21 students and they are full of energy! My 11 boys and 10 girls definitely keep me on my toes all day long ! These kids are excited and motivated to get the most out of their academic school day.
My primary goal is inspiring my students to develop knowledge in an engaging way to promote life long learners.
This is my fifth year teaching and my first year in a Title 1 school. I have enjoyed the new challenges and blessings! Come join my Harry Potter class room and experience a magical learning environment!
In our classroom we work with a lot of individualized small group instruction. My students are learning to use their time efficiently and take responsibility for their own learning.
My Project
Where else can someone see the Great Wall of China, slay a dragon, walk alongside Martin Luther King Jr, or fly on the millennium falcon through space? Why through the pages of books! Our world may be constantly changing but the need for reading stays constant. Using audio books in the classroom is a great way to introduce literature that a student might not be able to independently read. Audio books can increase word exposure, build vocabulary, increase confidence of readers, and gives kids the example of fluent and interesting readers.
Struggling readers are able to listen to dynamic speakers while increasing their own reading ability.
Exposed to audio books will improve the skills for reluctant readers and will take affluent readers to the next level!
