My Students

My PK-5 students are committed to learning and getting a quality education in hopes of ensuring successful outcomes for their lives. The students of P.S. 193 are bridge builders who have a thirst for extending their knowledge through project-based learning, inquiry studies and Montessori based activities. They are creative and intuitive with bright minds waiting to explore. Their sense of wonder is inspiring.

My students are born makers - moving what they're learning from their heads through their hearts to their hands.

They need to be taught in a way that reaches them. They need to be presented information in diverse and engaging ways. Project-based learning, Montessori style activities and Makerspace activities grab their attention, thus increasing engagement. Hands-on, critical thinking and cooperative learning tasks creates a classroom of engaged learners who are able to show their skills in various ways.

My Project

The resources listed in this project would help build and contribute to our school wide maker space. Students in grades PK-5 would have access to these materials. We hope for this to be the beginning of a journey our students experience transitioning back into their individual classrooms. I am hoping for each child to explore the exciting and creative world of STEAM through constant exposure in multiple facets. I want each of my students to see their unique, diverse potential through their own outlets.

A makerspace in our building will open the doors of opportunity for our students.

There are multiple robots for different grade levels included in this project request. They will allow students to code, build and interact using robotics and technology. To see the light in their eyes when they cracked the code is priceless. There are also many building materials included in the project. Students will be fascinated by how many different artifacts they can build across different contents using materials they're unfamiliar with.
