My Students

"Our task, regarding creativity, is to help children climb their own mountains, as high as possible." - Loris Malaguzzi My upbeat and enthusiastic first graders are on their way to becoming incredible creative thinkers and writers. They just need the tools to get them there.

I have 25 insatiable learners in the 1st grade!

As a Title 1 school, most of them come from varied backgrounds, but when they arrive in my classroom they are just like every other young kid: ready to learn and reach their potential. My class is made up entirely of English Language Learners. Not only are they trying to learn math, social studies, science, and the like, but they are also working vigorously to learn the language. Even with those challenges, my students never fail to exceed my expectations, which as a teacher is always humbling. These sweet kids love to learn and read and I want to be able to provide all I can for them.

My Project

Pencils and erasers will help my students with literacy and writing out their math work. We are currently working on comparing and contrasting how we learn to students in other countries, and the students are hungry to continue expressing this through writing. In math, they are finding out how addition and subtraction are related. Many of them come from homes that cannot afford to provide these basic school supplies. Items such as the magnetic letters are to help my struggling learners by providing a tactile, engaging way to learn their high-frequency words. My students come from difficult backgrounds, whether that be financially or English not being their first language; even with that said, my students continue to pursue excellence in the classroom and want to learn. These supplies are essential to that process and I can no longer financially afford to provide them. These supplies would mean academic success for my scholars!

These donations to my classroom will truly make a difference in our day to day life.

Writing will be easier and faster with erasers for every student and pre-sharpened pencils ready to go. Students will have the chance to really dig their heels in and let their creativity soar!
