My Students

I am the ESE Self-Contained Teacher for grades K-5 at my school in a small rural commuity located only a few miles from the famous Suwannee River. My classroom is made up of mostly nonverbal students. All of my students are very special, have different needs, and all learn in different ways. Learning to communicate is a top priority for my students.

When one of my students learns to communicate not only do they have an improved quality of life the world opens up to them giving them more life choices and the ability to conquer obstacles big and small.

In my classroom I treat each child as an individual. I do not look at each child's disability as disabling them rather I see each child as uniquely different.

My Project

The tablets will help students with communication. The goal is for each nonverbal student to have their own tablet and learn how to use a communication app. Not only will they be able to use a communication app but each student would be able to access their curriculum on their individual level. Each student in my room has their own set of educational goals that we work on daily.

Communication is important for all aspects of my students' lives.

Please help me help my students with improving their ability to communicate.
