My Project

My students come from culturally and economically diverse backgrounds. Often when they come, their families do not have the resources to send them to school with basic supplies My hope is that supplying students with a backpack full of supplies will help them feel more comfortable coming to school. Filling a backpack with notebooks, crayons and pencils can help a student feel at ease in that they have the supplies to start class. Headphones are needed for the computer programs that are used in the school and are often an added expense that parents can't afford. By putting them in the backpack, along with other supplies, I hope to make the students feel more welcome and ease the financial burden of the parents.

I believe that all students deserve to have an opportunity to come to school and learn.

Providing students with supplies will help them feel more comfortable participating in class. These supplies will also ease the financial burden that families may feel in starting their new venture. I will also enclose a story that will welcome them into our school community.
