Help me give my students stationery sets and pens to donate to their assisted living pen pals so that they can continue to write back to them.

My Project
Our goal this year has been to reach out to our community. We visited four assisted living facilities throughout the year. My kindergarten through fifth grade students made home made ornaments from nature and my fourth grade students delivered them on a visit to two of the facilities. They also visited, sang, and some played the piano. Our spring project was Kleenex boxes that were donated and we decorated and made cards. Our second grade and third grade classes had to drop theirs off because of sickness in the facility.
However, our fifth graders had a life changing experience when they delivered their Kleenex, notes, and songs.
Their hearts were broken by the fact that some of the residents do not get company from outside, that this is their home, and the loneliness that they feel. One of the groups of children met a man that really made an impact on them. He told them stories about baseball and his nephew that played for the Atlanta Braves. When we got back to school, they wanted to write him a letter.
My students are smart, outgoing, and kind. The effects of our visits live on in their hearts. We are called to teach the whole child and teaching compassion is my favorite part. We will read "Have You Filled a Bucket Today?" We will also talk about how writing the residents can fill their buckets. They will choose a resident to become their pen pal and we will write them weekly. The stationery and pens will make a huge difference in the young and old. The students will be able to display compassion towards their elders and have their lives changed for the better.
