My Students

"Who are we? We are STEM!" This is how our students begin each morning- chanting, dancing, and enthusiastically affirming our belief that we can accomplish ANYTHING we decide to work hard towards! We know that to accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream!

As the only STEM school in Manhattan, our students are scientists, technologists, engineers, and mathematicians who dream of someday changing the world.

The students of STEM investigate and solve real world problems while developing social and emotional strength- this will prepare them to make a difference in the world. We believe that all kids are capable of success, NO Exceptions!

My Project

As the technology teacher at the only official STEM school in New York, it is my responsibility to instill my students with the computer science skills they will need to be successful in the future. While other applications offer the ability to use block coding alone, what I love about Codester is the combination of block coding and Python. After using the demo lesson provided by Codester for Computer Science Week in December, my students are ready to move to the next level. With the full Codester curriculum, my students will be challenged with both basic and more advanced coding.

Unfortunately, we are lacking the funding necessary to purchase computer science curriculum!

Please help us provide our students with the coding skills to support and challenge their beautiful minds! With your help, we can ensure that our students have the skills they need not only for Middle School, but for the future. We are convinced that every single one of our students is capable of success - no exceptions! Your generosity will not only provide resources necessary for learning, but will also bolster our students' confidence and determination!
