Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am the mentor to the Aspira Club (Hispanics/ Latinx). For the last three years, we have been making sure that Hispanics/ Latinx have a voice not only in our school, but our community as well. I teach in a school were every year the Hispanic population is growing. My students are determined to give more representation to their diverse countries and cultures. This year, Aspira will be hosting a huge celebration for the Hispanic Heritage Month. The items in the cart facilitate the culture food, drinks, and decorations for that. Aspira needs banners, table clothes, cutlery, and snacks to make this celebration possible for the community.

Hispanic Heritage Month is in the beginning (September 15- October 15) of the school year and it is challenging to raise money to fund the activities to educate our community.

This year, Aspira would like to hold an assembly and a big celebration to celebrate all twenty-one Spanish speaking countries. Students will showcase food, music, dances and traditions. Last year, we had a celebration and this year, we want to include more community people and bring the students and families together to see how rich the Latinx/Hispanic culture is.

Aspira needs help with having enough decorations and snacks to hold a culture celebration on October 15. Hispanics/ Latinx need more representation in our community. We appreciate all that we received and thank you beforehand. As we say in Aspira, " Que viva la raza"! Thank you for celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with our school.
