Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class consists of 15 amazing students. Of those students, I have six students within the autism spectrum. This is one of the most innovative and creative groups of students with dynamic ideas that should not be ignored! With a small class, all students are given adequate attention to help them flourish in their academics. My students are all creative and take initiative in their own learning every day in our classroom. They are always asking questions for further understanding when something new is presented to them. All of my students enjoy activities that involve the use of technology and tactical materials. My students are inquisitive and often explore beyond our intended lessons. My students are highly motivated and every day teach me something new, and I appreciate that most about my class.

My Project

My students have been out of the classroom for a long 18 months. Being remote made science a bit difficult and it went from being many students' favorite to not so favorite due to the lack of hands-on activity. Having the students back in person this year means bringing science back alive in the classroom. We want to be able to provide our students with hands-on science experiments to remind them why they fell in love with science. We are super excited to embark on this journey of in-person learning this year and these materials will make it even more enjoyable while learning.
